Streamline

Our mission is a simple one - make the lives of special districts easier. Between state mandates, budget limitations, and small (or non-existent) staff, providing your services within these constraints can be hard. Which is why we created the Streamline platform - website, email, intranet, and online payment tools dedicated to special districts.

Q&A

Mac Clemmens, CEO

Why is a healthy democracy important to achieving your company’s purpose?

At Streamline, our purpose is deeply intertwined with the health of local democracies, as we serve the most grassroots level of democratic governance. We see local democracy as a powerful tool for community empowerment, and our aim is to help other districts achieve similar levels of success and efficiency. A healthy democracy is vital for us because it enables communities to make informed decisions that directly impact their well-being.

Why are voting rights important to your business?

Voting rights are fundamental to our business as they directly influence the effectiveness of local districts, which are our primary focus. These rights ensure that local districts can raise awareness for their causes and effectively fill their governing boards. If voting is restricted or inaccessible, we're not just limiting individual rights; we're hindering the democratic process at its core. Our commitment to these districts means advocating for robust voting rights, ensuring that every voice is heard and every vote counts.

How do you encourage your employees to become more civically engaged?

Our team had the valuable opportunity to meet with Sarah Bonk, who provided insights into how we could extend our civic engagement beyond supporting over 1,500 districts through Streamline. This interaction was an eye-opener, inspiring our team to explore new avenues of civic participation. We encourage our employees to engage in activities that deepen their understanding of democracy and its workings, reinforcing the idea that a well-informed and active workforce is crucial for fostering a robust democratic environment.

What are your company’s other projects to help support voters, protect elections, and overcome political divides?

At Streamline, we emphasize transparency, a principle crucial in local government. We focus on initiatives that enhance clarity and openness in local governance, as this directly impacts voter engagement and the integrity of elections. By making information more accessible and understandable, we aim to bridge the gap between local governments and their constituents, fostering a more informed and cohesive community.
