A day for funders, family offices, foundations, philanthropic advisors, corporate representatives, civic and civictech entrepreneurs, and civic leaders, to help us figure out how to revitalize our democracy to strengthen our communities, economy, and country.
Cross-partisan by belief and design. Right, left, center, and none of the above. Co-hosted with the Center for Constitutional Democracy at UC Law SF.
Democracy Week is a cross-partisan, decentralized set of events running Oct 5 to 11, 2026 in San Francisco and Oct 12 to 18, 2026 in Los Angeles, alongside Tech Week in each city. Organizations and individuals host their own events, in whatever format works for them, and the week connects them to new audiences and to each other.
The timing is deliberate. Technology is one of the strongest forces acting on democracy today, through AI, through platforms, and through where investment goes, and Democracy Week exists in part to get more of the people building it working on how it can strengthen and revitalize the democratic republic instead of wearing it down. Many events have nothing to do with tech, and those matter just as much.
The headline event is the SF Innovators & Investors for Democracy Forum on October 8, co-hosted with the Center for Constitutional Democracy at UC Law SF, a one-day convening for funders, founders, and civic leaders on how capital and innovation can help revitalize our democracy. Alongside the events, Democracy Week runs the Democracy Accelerator for people building tools, campaigns, and institutions that strengthen the democratic republic, and is drafting a set of shared First Principles across party lines, building toward a Democracy Impact Assessment that innovators, investors, and citizens can use to guide their decisions.
